Gareth Edwards‘ underrated sci-fi film finds streaming success two years after its release. The British filmmaker made his feature directorial debut and first rose to prominence with his 2010 sci-fi horror film, Monsters, an independent production made on a small budget of $500,000, with Edwards also serving as the cinematographer, production designer, and a visual effects artist. From there, he graduated on to directing the big-budget monster movie, 2014’s Godzilla, which served as the first film in Legendary’s Monsterverse franchise.
