ENHYPEN Announce Documentary Focused on ENGENE Fan Community ‘FANMADE: ENHYPEN’

K-pop boy band ENHYPEN‘s dedicated ENGENE fan group will be the focus of an upcoming documentary film, FANMADE: ENHYPEN, from Hello Sunshine, the multimedia company founded by actress Reese Witherspoon.

According to a press release announcing the project on Wednesday (May 8), the feature documentary collaboration between Hello Sunshine and Good-People (Trainwreck: Woodstock ’99), will focus on the relationship between the group and the fan community by flipping the script on traditional concert films by celebrating “ENHYPEN’s fans (ENGENEs) and putting them at the heart of the concert creation process.”

The documentary will specifically follow five female fans as they co-create new material alongside the seven-man band, sparking the ENGENEs to “collaborate and revel in the joy of putting their passion out into the world.” The film will toggle between the fans and the band, using unprecedented, intimate access to the group on the U.S. dates of their FATE PLUS world tour.

The parallel band and fan paths of the new film will converge at the Galaxy Fanmade concert event, which took place on Tuesday night (May 7) at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas.

In a statement released with the news, Hello Sunshine’s head of unscripted Sara Rea said that the relationship between ENHYPEN and their fans makes for a particularly unique documentary creative experience. “The K-pop ecosphere embodies inclusivity in a way that is both inspiring and rich for storytelling. This heartfelt and joyful documentary showcases the beauty of coming together in a way that the world needs right now,” she said. “While we are accustomed to artists surprising audiences during their shows, watching these fans create unexpected and thoughtful experiences for the band is something we’ve never seen before.”
