Emmy nominations 2024: ‘Shōgun’ and ‘The Bear’ lead the pack

The nominees for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced July 17, and by the looks of it, the drama and comedy categories are FX’s to lose.

Both FX’s Shōgun and The Bear dominated in their respective categories, with Shōgun picking up 25 nominations and The Bear picking up 23. As the Emmy eligibility period runs from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024, these nominations are for The Bear‘s second season, as opposed to its more recent (and more underwhelming) third season.

Other big contenders include Fallout, Only Murders in the Building, Baby Reindeer, True Detective: Night Country, Hacks, Ripley, and The Crown. To see who else got nominated for Emmy Awards, read on.
