An early Superman contender hilariously reveals his failed Man of Steel audition. Henry Cavill was cast as Superman by director Zack Snyder for Man of Steel. The 2013 movie marked the start of the DCEU, with Cavill's Superman being the first hero introduced in the shared DC universe. Now, with James Gunn's new DC Universe soon repeating Man of Steel's feat by starting with Superman: Legacy and David Corenswet as Clark Kent, an early contender for Man of Steel's lead role reveals details from his failed audition.
