Pirates of the Caribbean 6 announces that it is rebooting the franchise. The swashbuckling series originally began in 2003 with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Since then, there have been five Pirates films in total, with the series getting its most recent installment in 2017 with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Pirates of the Caribbean 6 has been announced, but does not yet have a release date.
