Donald Glover & Beyonc’s The Lion King Return Confirms Major Theory About Mufasa’s Story

Disney continues its streak of live-action adaptations with Mufasa: The Lion King, featuring Donald Glover and Beyonc excitedly (and surprisingly) reprising their roles from the 2019 movie, indicating one major fact about the upcoming prequel. The 2024 musical drama film, directed by Barry Jenkins and written by Jeff Nathanson, follows in the footsteps of the aforementioned 2019 photorealistic animated remake of the beloved Disney tale by jumping back in time to tell Mufasa’s origin story. However, Glover and Beyonc’s roles in the movie suggest that it’s more than just a prequel.
