Ark: Survival Ascended is a remake/remaster of Ark: Survival Evolved built on the more advanced Unreal Engine 5 engine, which has enabled the team developing the game, Studio Wildcard, to develop cross-platform play and mods to the title. In addition to the new functionality, the remade version of Ark also has all-new graphics, a sorely needed upgrade from Evolved. That said, though the game was touted to have full cross-platform play and cross-progression enabled upon release for the Xbox X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, it’s not totally clear whether the feature is currently available during its early access period.
