The lesser-known World War II battle occurred from June 6 – 13, 1944, and was a key component of the allied push to liberate Europe in the wake of D-Day. The episode in which the battle is featured is the third of the 10-part mini-series. Not only did it offer valuable insight into a key World War II moment, but it also helped to further familiarize viewers with the men of the 101st Airborne Division, aka Easy Company.
