Dexter: New Blood executive producer, Chris McCarthy, has given a reassuring update for the future of the Dexter sequel, meaning it may not be cancelled forever. The show aired ten episodes in 2021, eight years after the original show ended, and picked up after the events of the widely panned Dexter finale. Michael C. Hall returned as the titular serial killer, and his son, Harrison, played by Jack Alcott, also served as the series' main focus. A planned second season was recently cancelled at Showtime despite the show's huge popularity, in which it became Showtime's most-watched series of all time.
