Though its original run may be long over, Calvin and Hobbes fans still question the ultimate role of Calvin’s parents in furnishing their child’s volatility with anger and neglect, but strip creator Bill Watterson says it’s not about that. It's been years since Watterson put down his pen following what can only be described as a magical journey of philosophical wonder ensconced in the trivialities and possibly imagined misadventures of a mischievous blond-mopped scamp named Calvin and his tiger pal Hobbes. However, fans continue to psychoanalyze the oft-havoc wreaking child and his possibly strained relationship with his parents. And, as sometimes happens with these speculations, it appears it may be a case of reading into these things too much.
