Brittany Mahomes Is in Her Red Era With New Hair Transformation

Brittany Mahomes is burning red.

The 28-year-old former soccer player — who is married to and shares two kids with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes — debuted her fiery new hair color in posts on social media earlier this week. In the snaps, she models long, wavy auburn locks topped with wispy curtain bangs.

“Feeling spicy,” she captioned the pics on Instagram along with fire and hot-pepper emojis.

Brittany’s new hue is the perfect, possibly unintentional tribute to her husband’s team colors, red and gold. The Kansas City Current owner was formerly blonde, meaning she’s now rocked both shades the Chiefs are known for.

The color also just so happens to be the title of a song and album by Brit’s friend Taylor Swift, whose fourth studio record, Red, topped the Billboard 200 for seven weeks starting November 2012. Nearly a decade later, Red (Taylor’s Version) once again debuted at No. 1 on the chart.

The pop star and retired athlete first hit it off last fall, when Swift joined Chiefs Kingdom through her relationship with Travis Kelce. The pair became fast friends while chatting at games and sharing a suite at Arrowhead Stadium, and the “Anti-Hero” singer included Brittany in a few squad hangout sessions in New York City during the season.

Both women were also in attendance at the 2024 Super Bowl, which Kansas City won for the second year in a row. Swift joined the team on the field shortly afterward, kissing Kelce as NFL cameras and millions of viewers looked on.

“This season was a special one!” Brittany wrote on Instagram afterward. “[Patrick] never stopped believing in his team…through the ups and downs and all the doubters, never once did he doubt this team. He is a true leader and a team player … I love you and am always and forever proud of you.”
