Brazilian Pop Star Giulia Be Signs With Sony Music Latin Iberia

Brazilian pop singer/songwriter Giulia Be has signed a new recording deal with Sony Music Latin Iberia. The rising Brazilian star, whose music draws from Brazil’s tropicalismo movement with influences of disco and urban music, is currently working on new material that will be released through Sony worldwide.

“I am deeply grateful for this new journey with Sony Music, a union that represents the beginning of something I always felt was meant for me,” said Giulia Be in a statement.  “It’s exciting to be surrounded by a team that sees my dream not as something impossible, but as something inevitable, challenging me to reach new heights. Afo Verde is so visionary and generous, and having him leading the project by my side only inspires me to go further,” she added.

“Giulia is an extraordinary artist. Composer, singer, pianist, guitarist, actress! Her talent is infinite. We feel absolutely honored to be a part of her career,” said Afo Verde, chairman & CEO of Sony Music Latin Iberia.

A multi-hyphenate who can write and sing in Portuguese, Spanish and English, Giulia Be (real name Giulia Bourguignon Marinho), made her singing debut with Warner Music Brasil in 2018 with the single “With You.”

She was nominated for best new artist at the 2021 Latin Grammys and for best Portuguese language urban performance at the 2023 Latin Grammys. Giulia Be’s music spans many styles. Her 2019 single “Menina Solta,” a sultry acoustic pop/rock track, has over 246 million streams on Spotify alone.

Giulia Be also forayed into acting in 2022 with the Netflix film Depois do Universo, in which she starred and also wrote the soundtrack. In August, she announced her engagement to Conor Kennedy.
