Bob Odenkirk is playing the Tommy Wiseau role in a full-length remake of The Room. Wiseau achieved infamy with his 2003 film The Room, an attempt at an intensely heavy drama that was received as an unintentional comedy, and went on to be regarded as one of the worst films ever made. Bad as The Room may be, it holds enough fascination that it still plays in midnight screenings. Adding to the film’s mythic status, back in 2017, James Franco made an Oscar-bait meta-movie about The Room called The Disaster Artist, in which he played Wiseau, and recreated several of the film’s most memorably awful moments.
