Billboard‘s 2023 Power 100 list has arrived! And as we ranked the music executives making the biggest impact across an ever-changing industry, we thought we should put some power in the fans’ hands too.
For weeks, fans voted in our brand-new Power Artist 2022 – Fan Choice bracket, choosing between the 32 artists who made the biggest impact on Billboard‘s 2022 year-end charts.
In the final round, we got down to the legends-only match-up of Nicki Minaj vs. Beyoncé, and when voting closed on Jan. 18, the winner of the inaugural bracket was the Queen of Rap herself, Minaj.
The rap superstar had a banner 2022, scoring her first solo No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the NSFW Rick James flip “Super Freaky Girl” and teaming up with Lil Baby, Coi Leray, Fivio Foreign and BLEU for five more entries on the chart. A decade-plus since her 2009 Billboard chart debut, the Queen still wears the crown.
Alongside the Power Artist 2022 bracket, Billboard also added a peer-voted award to its annual Power 100 list. The new Power Players’ Choice Award aimed to honor the executive whose peers believe he or she had the most impact across the music business over the past year, and S10 Entertainment founder/CEO Brandon Silverstein is our first winner. As a manager, Silverstein has helped build Anitta’s and Normani’s breakout careers, while moving S10 into publishing, recorded music and film/TV.
