Terrifier is getting a theatrical re-release. The film, which is the first non-anthology feature to showcase the slasher villain Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton), only ever received a limited release before going to home media and VOD. However, its microbudget sequel Terrifier 2 made a huge splash at the box office last year thanks to reports of audience members falling ill due to the films gory intensity, resulting in an overall gross of $15 million off its $250,000 budget.
