An early story on Supernatural for Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) shared many aspects with another storyline within the Buffy The Vampire Slayer spinoff Angel. Many of Supernatural’s best episodes focused on the fantastic monsters, lore, and action as well as the unbreakable bond between the Winchester brothers, weaving the two together often to increase the series’ emotional and even physical tension. However, the Winchester’s individual stories also helped amplify that tension, with Sam’s ever-shifting arc shaping many of the early events of the series.
