Throughout The Magicians, the gods play a central role in the plot, but not every god is as good as the others. Syfy’s The Magicians follows a group of graduate students attending the magical Breakbills University. Across five seasons, they interact with a number of gods who all have different personalities. The gods are important to the story because they grant Magicians access to magic, using it as a tool to control their behavior. Additionally, gods like Reynard the Fox, Bacchus, and Nameless interact directly with humans.
