"HBO Is Quite Happy": The Idol Season 2 Teased By Star After Controversy & Bad Reviews

Ahead of the season 1 finale, Da’Vine Joy Randolph teases The Idol season 2 despite all the controversy and bad reviews. From Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, the new HBO series follows a deeply troubled pop star, Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), who falls into the clutches of a cult leader and self-help guru named Tedros (The Weeknd). Long before its HBO premiere on June 4, The Idol was criticized as "twisted torture porn" that had "gone wildly, disgustingly off the rails." The Idol's abysmal reviews have also been the worst of any HBO show in history.
