Max‘s new medical drama with a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes has already become the streamer’s top TV show, less than one week after it first premiered. There are a variety of medical dramas that are currently airing on TV, from ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy season 21, to NBC’s Chicago Med season 10, to the recently-renewed sitcom St. Denis Medical. The genre has permeated network TV for decades, ever since the success of the ’90s TV series ER, created by Michael Crichton. It’s a genre that allows for dramatic tension between characters, alongside the weekly cases they need to work with.
