Jim Carrey’s retirement put the pressure on the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 writers to create the best Robotnik story of the series. Carrey has technically been retired from acting for years, but he has continuously reprised his role as Ivo Robotnik in the Sonic movies. It is clear that Carrey loves acting in the Sonic films, since he agreed to star as two characters in the recently released Sonic the Hedgehog 3. In Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Carrey plays Ivo Robotnik, the villain he’s played for several movies, as well as Gerald Robotnik, Ivo’s grandfather.
