Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is in many ways a love letter to the game series, especially Sonic Adventure 2. There are lots of little references to the history of the games found throughout the film, ranging from little easter eggs to instrumental themes. This element can also be felt throughout the film’s music choices, which perfectly fit Sonic the Hedgehog 3‘s cast of characters and help lighten up some of the film’s darker moments.
