REPUBLIC Is Billboard’s Top Label of 2024

For the fourth year in a row, REPUBLIC rules Billboard’s three major year-end label rankings: Top Labels, Billboard 200 Labels and Billboard Hot 100 Labels. The Top Labels recap represents aggregated metrics for labels’ performance on the weekly Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts combined during the 2024 eligibility period (Oct. 28, 2023-Oct. 19, 2024), while the Billboard 200 Labels and Billboard Hot 100 Labels roundups reflect performance on those respective charts during the same period.

REPUBLIC, founded by Monte and Avery Lipman — who are also chairman and vice chairman, respectively — has led the Top Labels recap in eight of the last 10 years and Hot 100 Labels in 11 of the last 13. The company first reached the top Billboard 200 label mark in 2021 and has yet to yield its grip on the year-end ranking since.

Remarkably, eight of the top 10 albums on the year-end Billboard 200 Albums list — Nos. 1-5 and 8-10 — fall under the REPUBLIC collective. It’s the first time that a company has claimed that many titles in the year-end top 10, or the entire top five, since the Billboard 200 began publishing on a regular weekly basis in 1956. The top Billboard 200 album of 2024 is Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department.

In the 2024 tracking period, Republic amassed 72 albums on the Billboard 200, including the most that hit the top 40 (46), top 10 (26) and No. 1 (13). On the Hot 100 during the chart year, Republic tallied the most overall entries (209), top 40 hits (124), top 10s (38) and No. 1s (eight). In the top 10 of the year-end Hot 100 Songs ranking, REPUBLIC places at Nos. 4 and 7, respectively, with Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help” (featuring Morgan Wallen) and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.”

Billboard’s year-end Top Labels chart represents aggregated metrics for the labels’ performance on the weekly Billboard 200 albums chart and the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart combined during the 2024 chart tracking year: Oct. 28, 2023, through the Oct. 19, 2024-dated charts. Any activity registered before or after an album or song’s chart run isn’t considered in this ranking. The individual Billboard 200 Labels and Billboard Hot 100 Labels rankings represent the same measurement, but for each specific chart, during the same tracking period.
