Over the years, there have been several comedy TV shows that turned serious, but took things too far. Plenty of warm comedy TV shows, at one point or another, were guilty of delving into darker storylines. Some of these titles crossed the lines and became too serious, and while it worked for some, it impacted most of them in a negative way. This was mainly because the unusual change in the show’s atmosphere was so noticeable that audiences were thrown off.
