Premios Juventud 2024 kicked off in a spirited spectacle led by the illustrious salsa producer Sergio George and reggaetón heavyweight Wisin, setting the stage ablaze, equipped with red lighting, at Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot.
Celebrating tropical rhythms, their opening performance of “La Vida Es Una Fiesta” — which they live-premiered Thursday (July 25) — coursed through the audience like a vibrant pulse, epitomizing the night’s jubilant theme.
Wisin, rocking a black leather outfit and badass baseball cap — and looking tough and apocalyptic — sang, “Life is a party, day or night, break it down and don’t stop. I bring good rumba for you to dance and forget your sorrows.” Meanwhile, Sergio George, wearing a white long-sleeve and matching pants, played the keys while flanked by an energetic full brass section.
This electrifying pair not only heralded the night’s festivities in San Juan but also perfectly embodied the essence of the awards ceremony’s jubilant spirit, setting the stage for pure revelry.
The 2024 Premios Juventud — a fan-voted awards show — is hosted by Lele Pons, Clarissa Molina and Wisin. For its 21st annual ceremony, artists Carin León, Maluma, Peso Pluma, Karol G and Shakira were among the most nominated acts. Meanwhile, Anitta, Los Tigres del Norte and Lele Pons each received an Agent of Change Award, which “recognizes and celebrates” young entrepreneurs and prominent stars who “selflessly contribute to creating a better world,” according to the awards show.
