Miley Cyrus Playfully Calls Out Kendall Jenner for ‘Doing Harmonies’ During Her ‘Flowers’ Performance

Miley Cyrus performed once again at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont on Thursday night (July 18), celebrating Gucci Flora — the perfume she’s been the face of since 2021 — at an intimate party of nearly 200 star-studded guests.

In a clip of her performance of her Billboard Hot 100 chart topper, “Flowers,” posted to Gucci’s social media, the 31-year-old star is seen delivering the lyrics in a sleek little black dress with a plunging neck line, paired with a lacy bralette, a chunky gold necklace and black sunglasses.

During the song, she made several playful quips, including calling out attendee Kendall Jenner. “Is that Kendall Jenner doing harmonies?” she says, pulling up her sunglasses to get a better look. She also changed the second verse lyrics from “cherry red” to “Ancora red,” in reference to a statement Gucci color introduced by the designer brand’s creative director, Sabato De Sarno.

Other celebrity guests at the fashion event included Salma Hayek, Kim Petras, Rumer Willis, Chloe Kim, Kaytranada, Finneas, Claudia Sulewski and Law Roach, per ET.

It’s been a huge year for Cyrus, who took home her first-ever Grammy at the 2024 ceremony as “Flowers” won both record of the year and best pop solo performance. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks in 2023.

Her 2023 single “Used to Be Young,” followed her full-length album Endless Summer Vacation, and peaked at No. 8 on the Hot 100. In October, she joined Dolly Parton — who just so happens to be her godmother — for a revamped version of her 2013 hit “Wrecking Ball.”
