Even after 45 years, Aliens chestburster scene is still one of the most disturbing moments of body horror in cinema history. I first encountered Aliens most infamous scene via Mel Brookss 1987 Star Wars parody Spaceballs. That goofy spoof featured a scene where an unfortunate diner patron, played by Alien star John Hurt, was killed by a singing, dancing Xenomorph emerging from his chest. After seeing a parody of the iconic horror moment, I assumed the original scene wouldnt faze me. It turns out that the gag did nothing to inure me to the nightmare fuel of the Alien franchise.
