A new Child’s Play movie is in development, and it’s the perfect chance to pay off a 26-year-old tease that franchise creator Don Mancini has often talked about. With the current wave of reboots and legacy sequels in the horror genre, through which some of the most popular franchises have been brought back, there has been a lot of anticipation around a possible return of the Child’s Play franchise to the big screen. Created by Don Mancini, the Child’s Play franchise began in 1988 with the movie of the same name, which introduced viewers to the murderous doll Chucky.
