Adapted from the eponymous novels by Lev Grossman, The Magicians ran on SyFy from 2015 to 2020, telling the story of a group of students attending a magical post-graduate school called Brakebills University who get roped into the chaos and politics of a fictional world called Fillory. The series maintains a good balance between gritty storytelling and high fantasy – two traits that helped make The Magicians a cult classic TV show.
