A Nightmare on Elm Street cinematographer Jacques Haitkin has passed away. Born in New York State on August 29, 1950, Haitkin studied at both NYU and the American Film Institute before getting his start in Hollywood on low-budget films, especially horror. His earliest titles include 1981's Galaxy of Terror and 1982's The House Where Evil Dwells before shooting 1984's A Nightmare on Elm Street, which got him the gig for 1985's Elm Street 2 as well as beginning a working relationship with director Wes Craven that included lensing 1989's Shocker and 1997's Wishmaster.
