There is much to be mined from using water as a source of terror, but Blumhouse’s latest is less of a horror and more of a family drama. There are layers to the story, which makes the film a gripping watch on its own, but you’ll be sorely disappointed in the lack of genuine and chilling scares if you’re a massive horror fan.
