Henry Cavill's upcoming Highlander reboot will revive the cult action saga, but it needs to take some steps if it hopes to avoid the franchise's past mistakes. The Christopher Lambert-fronted original had something of a perfect high-concept idea, with the star playing an immortal warrior who is forced to battle others of his kind until only one remains. The winner is then granted the mythical "Prize," but what exactly this entails is unknown. The film is very much a product of its era, with dated fashion, MTV-style editing and bizarre casting choices. Despite its flaws, it's also a hugely enjoyable adventure with a great soundtrack.
