Netflix's family-friendly fantasy film Chupa stars a cast of young newcomers, veteran performers, and even a few notable stars. Chupa was released on streaming on April 7, 2023, and tells the story of Alex (Evan Whitten), a young boy who travels from Texas to Mexico to visit his extended family after his father has passed away. Once there, he meets his strange grandfather Chava (Demián Bichir), and his hip and energetic cousins Luna (Ashley Ciarra) and Memo (Nickolas Verdugo). When the children stumble upon a mythological baby Chupacabra, they go on an adventure to protect the creature from US government doctor Richard Quinn (Christian Slater).
