Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 1The early chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex open with the fallout of one of the most significant plot twists so far, resulting in covering over a plot hole in a genius way. In Chapter 79 of the pre-time skip part of the manga, Kawaki's resentment and frustration with his status as Boruto's adopted brother culminated in an unintentional wish, triggering Eida's Omnipotence power and rewriting reality. In this new reality, Boruto and Kawaki have essentially swapped roles. Now Kawaki is Naruto's beloved son and Boruto is the renegade traitor. For all but a handful of characters seemingly immune to the effects of Omnipotence, this is not only the new reality but the reality that has always existed.
