The dark fantasy series The Magicians could produce multiple spinoffs that could be even more successful than the original TV show. Adapted from the eponymous novels by Lev Grossman, The Magicians ran on SyFy from 2015 to 2020, telling the story of a group of students attending a magical post-graduate school called Brakebills University who get roped into the chaos and politics of a fictional world called Fillory. The series maintains a good balance between gritty storytelling and high fantasy – two traits that helped make The Magicians a cult classic TV show.
