There are several original series characters who can return in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2. FBI's famed Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) has successfully made the transition from CBS to Paramount+ with its revival project. Aside from changing broadcasters, there are also a few other differences between Criminal Minds: Evolution season 2 and its parent series. Paramount+'s endeavor takes a longer storytelling format. Instead of having an episodic narrative, which means that the BAU tackles new cases every week, its new incarnation devotes a whole season to taking on a single unsub. This way, Criminal Minds: Evolution is able to fully explore the case as it did with Elias Voit.
