Cape Fear is becoming a television series, marking its second remake. Martin Scorsese's 1991 Cape Fear was a remake of the 1962 movie of the same name, which was based on the novel The Executioners by John D. MacDonald. It tells the story of a convicted rapist who uses his newfound knowledge of the law and its various loopholes to seek vengeance against the public defender he blames for his imprisonment. It was a success with critics and at the box office, also earning Oscar nominations for stars Robert De Niro and Juliette Lewis.
