6 Things You Didn’t See on TV at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards

Before the artists took the stage at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which aired on Sunday (Oct. 20), they walked the red carpet and shared with Billboard anecdotes and moments that you didn’t see on television.

Just after receiving their award for tropical song of the year for “Cosas de la Peda,” Prince Royce and Gabito Ballesteros proposed working on an EP together. And Maria Becerra shared the backstory of her fairly new Selena-inspired tattoo.

This year’s ceremony was led by big winner Karol G, who took home eight trophies, including Global 200 Latin artist of the year and tour of the year. Her song “Qlona” with Peso Pluma won awards for Hot Latin song of the year; Hot Latin Song of the year, vocal event; and streaming song of the year.

Bad Bunny received six awards, including artist of the year and his album Nadie Sabe lo que Va a Pasar Mañana was honored with Top Latin Album of the year and Latin rhythm album of the year. Peso Pluma also received six awards, three of them for “Qlona” with Karol G, as well as Hot Latin Songs artist of the year, male; regional Mexican artist of the year, solo; and songwriter of the year. (See full winners list here.)

Meanwhile, artists such as Fuerza Regida, Yandel, Grupo Niche, Proyecto Uno, Xavi and Luis Alfonso, among others, took center stage at the ceremony for memorable performances.

Additionally, the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards recognized Pepe Aguilar, Alejandro Sanz and J Balvin were honored with special recognitions. Both Aguilar and J Balvin also delivered riveting sets during the two-hour show.

As all of this was being televised live on Telemundo, Billboard was catching all the action backstage and at the red carpet that you didn’t see on TV. Check out the list below:
