A new year means a new crop of video games to look forward to, and 2025 could be one of the best years yet if it just delivers on some highly anticipated release dates. While the last few years have been hard for developers, they have been very kind to players, delivering everything from lengthy and mechanically deep RPGs like Baldur’s Gate 3 to fun and inventive platformers like Astro Bot and Animal Well. These stellar years for games set the bar pretty high going into 2025, but it’s one that the year may just be able to clear.
