2023 Billboard Music Awards: Best Photos from the Show

The 2023 Billboard Music Awards are taking place Sunday, Nov. 19, and features a star-studded lineup of performers, not to mention some of the music industry’s biggest stars accepting their trophies with heartfelt speeches.

The first performance of the night was delivered by Colombian superstar Karol G, who opened with a medley of “Qlona,” “Ojos Ferrari” and “Labios Mordidos.” The former two are off her hit album Manana Sera Bonito, and the last is a collab with Kali Uchis from Kali’s upcoming set, Orquídeas. Karol is a finalist in five categories.

The ceremony is also set to feature performances by Mariah Carey, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids, new Billboard cover star Tate McRae, Morgan Wallen and others.

This year’s BBMAs — which are presented by Marriott Bonvoy — were rolled out with an innovative concept that entertained with not only performances, but exclusive content, behind-the-scenes moments, winner celebrations and more created by the artists.

The ceremony spans across genres, from pop to country, rock, Afrobeats, Latin, hip-hop and beyond. The BBMAs are also introducing nine new awards, including several in the ever-growing K-pop field, and two in Afrobeats. Also new are the Hot 100 songwriter and producer awards, and top rock duo/group.
