Love stories have been a part of movie history since the first motion pictures, and while it is always nice to see the loving couple live happily ever after, sometimes romance movies with sad endings can be even more effective. Movies in which romance still ends in tragedy provide an emotional catharsis for the audience and help to remind the viewers of the love that goes on.
