Gary Larson’s The Far Side showcases his love of nature from beginning to end, but even in that contest, it’s hard to deny he has a special soft spot for creepy-crawlies. Mosquitoes, lice and wasps all feature heavily in The Far Side, but worms are a particular favorite. Indeed, they have the rare honor of being the subject Larson wrote an entire children’s book about – 1998’s There’s a Hair in My Dirt!: A Worm’s Story.
