The unscripted show centers around the weight-loss journeys of 37-year-old Tammy and her 36-year-old sister, Amy Slaton. When the show premiered in 2020, Tammy weighed over 600 pounds. She could barely leave her house and was a prisoner trapped in her own body. Despite her diminished quality of life, Tammy continued to gain weight, and, by season three, she weighed as much as 720 pounds.
