Some of the best Fast and Furious characters were not in the franchise’s first movie, 2001's The Fast and the Furious, and only joined Toretto’s family later on. Considering how many Fast and Furious movies there have been, it can be difficult to keep track of when and how each main character was introduced. Dominic Toretto, Brian O’Conner, Letty Ortiz, and Mia Toretto can be considered the saga’s original protagonists, debuting in the first film and appearing in multiple installments after that. These four characters, however, are the exception rather than the rule.
