The Brooklyn Nine-Nine Hitchcock season 8 role for the star only saw him appear via video calling over FaceTime, creating an unusual and unexpected dynamic for the sitcom's final run. Detective Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker) was a part of Brooklyn Nine-Nine since the pilot episode, almost always seen alongside his work partner, and best friend of over 30 years, Joel McKinnon Miller's Norm Scully. In contrast to Scully, Hitchcock is an incredibly lewd man. He has dated numerous women young enough to be his daughter, lies on his online dating profiles, and even owns a van that can only be described as creepy.
