Mark Wahlberg reveals why he initially resisted his Boogie Nights casting. Wahlberg played Eddie Adams turned porn star Dirk Diggler in Paul Thomas Anderson’s acclaimed 1997 film Boogie Nights. Boogie Nights went on to become one of the quintessential films of the 1990s, being nominated for three Oscars including Best Original Screenplay for Anderson, and Best Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role for Burt Reynolds and Julianne Moore, respectively. Wahlberg admits that he almost turned down his role in Boogie Nights.
